    Stewards of God's Provision "
	For to
everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from
him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.” Matthew 25:29
	(Parable of the Talents)
“And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who
will trust you with the true riches of heaven? “Luke 16:11
“Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and
stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards that
one be found faithful” 1 Corinthians 4:1-2
“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one
another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” 1 Peter 4:10 The Bible “teaches that stewardship
is a great concept, involving how we respond with all of our life to Him who
is the giver and sustainer of life.” (Charles Bugg,
	Holman Bible
	Dictionary)
Jesus regarded stewardship of finances as an
indication of trustworthiness with spiritual things, which were more
	important. (Matt & Luke above)
We often look at stewardship as an
issue which just entails money, however it involves so much more.
Whenever we look at how we get good things, we
know that all good things come from God.
When God allocates to us He provides plenty to
meet our needs and his requirements.
	Busy schedules, endless entertainment options,
and self-centered thinking all distribute our time and money away from God.
It is difficult to control our schedules and
allow God his proper time, but oh the blessings we are surely missing out
	on.
Remember the sower principle (2 Cor. 9:6) while we
“exercise” (1 Tim 4:8) ourselves in Godliness with our time, money and
resources. Continue thinking for this week:
What is God’s portion; the first fruits, does He
get the leftovers, or does He deserve a say over everything?
There are teachers who say 10%, 23 1/3%, some
say “give what you can,” and still others advocate giving all to God by
allowing Him to help you decide where to spend your resources.
Some other applicable scriptures (in addition to
the ones above) are: Genesis 14:15-20, Deut. 26:12-15, 2 Corinthians 9:5-15,
Hebrews 7 (more to come next week) | |||||||
